Tales of the First Team
On September 13th, 1921, the 1st Cavalry Division was activated in Fort Bliss, Texas. They were the true last cowboys and rough riders of America on the southern border. But, when the world descended into fascism and darkness, the troopers exchanged their stallions for jeeps; sabers for bayonets; and bugles for radios. The 1st Cavalry Division sailed across the Pacific in World War Two, landing in the Admiralty Islands and the Philippines before garrisoning Japan and fighting again in Korea in the early 1950s. This site is dedicated to the troopers who went and served with the First Team and truly "lived the legend."

The Morning Report
Morning Report: 1/18/2024
Happy New Year, troopers! 2024 will see more additions to the archive and additional writeups for many profiles featured on the website. One of the main initiatives is presenting more posts on Instagram (@1stcavhistory) to bring profiles to more people and to advertise the full articles on the website.
The first addition of 2024 to the archive is an Ike jacket named to T/5 Dean Donalds, a member of the 99th Field Artillery Battalion during the Occupation of Japan. Writeups for two of the last additions of 2023, LTC Rene Gaudette and Sgt Earl Frawley are now on the website and are featured in 'The Parade Grounds' below.
